About the artist

The inspiration for my drawing comes from a lifelong love of animals.  Living in the beautiful Scottish countryside and growing up with horses, dogs and cats I   developed an appreciation of their musculature and bone structure which is reflected in my art.

In 2017 my drawing developed in earnest, inspired by my wonderful dog Yogi, I initially began sketching graphite drawings of him which led to drawing other animals.

  • I was lucky enough to meet Mary during a construction project at her home. Her hard work and commitment to the project shines through in the time and  dedication she puts into her art work. 
    Mary surprised me with a portrait of our family pet dog Bluebell, an Old English Sheep dog. Bluebell was a fantastic family friend who sadly passed at age 14. We like to think that Bluebell had a great fun life with us and Mary has captured her expression, the texture of her fur and her characteristics in the amazing drawing of her which is now hanging pride of place in our family home. We cannot thank Mary enough for her fantastic work of art.

  • We are deeply moved by the pastel drawing Mary created of our cherished black standard poodle, Bobby, who sadly passed away.
